All About The Lowcountry
The Lowcountry & Resort Islands Region of South Carolina includes the four, southern-most counties in the state, Beaufort, Jasper, Hampton, and Colleton, which are bordered on the east by the Atlantic Ocean and on the west by the Savannah River and the state of Georgia.
If your route takes you down busy Interstate 95, you will pass Walterboro, home of the South Carolina Artisans Center and then Yemassee, famous as a destination during World War II for thousands of US Marine recruits on their way to train at Parris Island. Continuing down I-95 will bring you to Point
Exploring further inland, you can visit quaint Southern towns like Hampton, Varnville and Estill, with interesting museums, friendly people and fun festivals.
